One of the most rare and unusual American made auto pistols is this J. Kimball Arms Co. .30 carbine caliber auto pistol. Only 250-300 were made in 1955. This Detroit, Michigan company attempted to produce a pistol for the popular .30 M1 Carbine round. During this time surplus ammo was cheap and readily available. However, there were problems with the basic design of this pistol and the company went out of business soon after production began. This example with 5" barrel, adjustable target rear sight and serial number 12 IS BRAND NEW IN THE ORIGINAL BOX WITH OWNERS MANUAL! The box is in excellent condition with only some normal scuffs and handling. All end and top markings are sharp and clear. The owners manual is also fine. The pistol is marked KIMBALL ARMS CO.
DETROIT, MICH. U.S.A. and 30 CAL. CARBINE. For advanced collectors the Kimball auto pistol in this unusual .30 Carbine caliber is one of the most elusive American handguns ever produced and examples rarely come up for sale. Even the most advanced auto pistol or general handgun collections probably lack one of these. Of those that still exist, this may be the best as it retains the original factory box and manual. This is about as truly rare as an American produced handgun can be. The pistol weighs 2lbs 8oz. Serial Number: 12. This is a modern firearm and requires a FFL transfer or NICS background check.
