Up for sale is this fine early set of hand crafted cowboy chaps hand crafted and marked by renowned maker Jack Connolly Saddlery, one of three sons of renowned tack maker - John Connolly. The three Connolly sons (Jack, Andrew, and Pat) split with their father in 1907 to relocate to Butte, Montana, which was the start up location of the first Connolly Bros Harness Shop. In 1912, Jack and Pat moved on to Billings, where Jack was credited with expanding the business into saddle manufacture. In the year of the stock market crash, which led to the Great Depression (1929), Jack moved himself to Livingston, Montana, where Jack Connolly Saddlery was formed. Jack Connolly Saddlery (1929-1937; 1940-1946). The pair of chaps are made from leather with silver conchos on each leg. The waist is marked, Jack Connolly-Livingston, MONT.ó The chaps are in good condition. The waist is 17" and the chaps are 36" long. Bud Chapman, before his passing, claimed these to have been hand crafted by Jack Connolly and sold at his Livingston, Montana Saddlery shop. Bud Chapman was considered the foremost collector of Connolly Bros and Jack Connolly Saddlery.
