In this lot is a very rare collection of Montana trade tokens. There are seven tokens in this collection. The first token is from Lolo Hot Springs with P. H Gerber's name on it and has a value of 121/2 cents. Gerber owned the hot springs starting in 1903. The next token is for S.P. McDonald Montana Bar Hot Springs Montana 5 cents. The next token is from John B. Pozega Anaconda, Montana 10 cents. The next token is copper and from the Idle Hour F. Ackerson Belgrade Montana 5 cents. The next token is copper and has a rosette shape and is from Montana Workers Club for 10 cents. The Workers Club was in Red lodge, Montana and opened in 1909 and the building still stands today as The Carbon Country Historical Society & Museum. The next token is George Welcome Gardner, Montana 12 1/2 cents. The token is copper with a 4 leaf clover shape. Welcome was a saloon owner and businessman in Gardiner, which is just north of Yellowstone National Park, from the late 1800's until his death in 1905. This is a rarely seen token that is well over one hundred years old. The last token is from Doyle & Ebert Pool and Billiards for 2 1/2 cents. This token is also in the 4 leaf clover shape. The tokens range in size from 7/8" diameter to 1 1/8" diameter. All seven of these tokens are in good shape.
