Offered in this lot we have a rare Ojibwa Native American rawhide snowshoes originating from the early 1900's. The snowshoes feature a woven lattice work of rawhide on a wooden frame with leather shoe straps. The pieces show puffs of red fabric along the sides where the rawhide crossed through the wood. The shoes where hand made by the Ojibwa Native American tribe located near Lake Superior. The snowshoes show good condition overall with some wear due to use and age. The shoes measures 35" long by 11 1/4" wide.
