For your bidding pleasure is this RARE RT Frazier Saddle Custom Pueblo Saddle c. 1900-15. This is an original early R.T. Frazier saddle handcrafted from Pueblo, Colorado. The saddle shows slick leather all around with embroidered circles high on the seat jockey. Showing a high cantle this saddle shows attention to both comfort and practicality, with a slick fork and sturdy rope strap this is a lovely piece of equipment in good working condition. There is no damage to the saddle with aging to the leather that accentuates and compliments the saddle well. The skirt is considered a square skirt style and has good looking monel stirrups. In 1850, Frazier was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado moving to Pueblo, Colorado in the mid 1880's. In 1892 he formed a partnership with S.C. Gallup. Of the iconic saddle makers of the same time period, Frazier was one of the first to use a catalog system which made his work extremely desirable and his name famous. By 1917 he was considered to be the largest producer of stock saddles in the U.S. "Builder of the famous Pueblo Saddle," is a phrase that became a trademark or hallmark for him. There was a time when Frazier employed over 50 saddle makers. This saddle is marked with Fraziers makers mark, "R.T. Frazier Maker Pueblo, Colo." The measurements of this saddle show a 14" seat with box measurements including (shipping measurements): 16" x 27" x 20".
