Featured in this lot is this rare tanzanite fine blue purple and diamond ring with IAS paperwork. The ring features a wonderfully and professionally crafted stamped platinum ladies custom construction and is marked 'Orianne" and 'PT950' next to the hallmark. The centerstone is a natural cut oval cut tanzanite set in a four prong setting with measurements of of 12 x 10mm and shows a fine medium blue/ purple quality with a fine cut and clarity and a total weight of 5.84 carats. The center stone and split set pave shoulders are decorated with natural round brilliant cut diamonds with a quality of G -H and a coloration of VS clarity and a total weight of 0.54 carats. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with IAS(Independent Appraisals Services, a GIA certified lab IAS Appraisal Number#: 63820EW) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $8,400.00. The ring size is US 7.
