Offered in this lot is a collection of three rare Van Briggle vases. In 1899 Artus Van Briggle stepped off the train in Colorado Springs, though Artus was a brilliant painter, his artistic passions were most famously expressed in one of history’s oldest arts - pottery. The first vase is a pristine Van Briggle vase produced circa 1960. The vase features a stylized rendering of Colorado’s state flower, the Columbine. The vase has a Columbine flower and bud stem on two sides. The vase measures 8 1/2" tall and 3 3/4" across. The next items in the lot are two Onion bulb vases. These Vases are known as a "Onion Bulb" Vase because of the pattern of blooming Onion bulbs around the vase, as well as its shape. The Vases Stand 4 1/4" tall and are 3 3/8" across at the widest point. All these vases are made in one of Van Briggle's most highly collected glazes known as "Turquoise Blue". These vases are in good condition with no obvious signs of damage.
