For your consideration are Rare Vintage Remington UMC .45-60 Winchester Center Fire Cartridges, one box of twenty (20) Black Powder rounds, circa 1912-1920s. The Union Metallic Cartridge Company (UMC) was an early manufacturer of cartridge ammunition for small arms. Following the merger with Remington Arms in 1912, the company manufacturing complex in Bridgeport, Connecticut became a major arms supplier during World War I. The .45-60 Winchester cartridge was introduced in 1879 for hunting big game and designed for the Winchester Model 1876 rifle, production was most active between 1879 and 1935. Production by major manufacturers largely ceased by 1935 as more powerful smokeless powder rifles became standard. The original box measures 2.25"W x 6"L x 1"D, combined weight is 1lb, 8oz.
