This is an original, lifetime vintage piece of Tommy Singer jewelry, a gold and sterling silver Kachina pendant on a Mediterranean Coral and Navajo pearl necklace dating to circa 1980-1990’s. Tommy Singer (Navajo / Dine, 1938-1914) was a renowned Navajo silversmith who was active from early 1960 until his death in 1914. Singer was attributed with inventing the chip inlay technique as well as being known for his distinct style, kachina bolos and necklaces and multi-stone necklaces with sterling barrel beads. This piece exhibits a seven strand Mediterranean Coral necklace with large sterling silver barrel beads with yellow gold overlay having a graduated Navajo pearl sterling silver concha / concho strand above and sterling silver cones. The necklace has a small “T. Singer” signed tag and the kachina pendant is signed, “T. Singer” as well. The kachina pendant has a three-dimensional design with wide necklace loop, feathered headdress with gold overlay accents in several places. The neck and body are articulated. Truly a rare set with nice vintage lifetime age from late 1980’s to early 1990’s. The necklace itself measures 31.5”L end to end with the kachina measuring 5”L by 1.75”W. Total weight of the set is 185 grams.
