Featured in this lot we have a casting of "Rattlesnake" by American artist Frederic Remington. Remington first sculpted "The Rattlesnake" in 1904 and it is considered one of his best sculptures, showing the fluid movement of the bucking horse and rider. The cowboy is equally startled and is almost caught off balance, grabbing his hat while trying to stay on his horse. This statue is reproduced in solid bronze, cast in a brown patina and then hand-rubbed. The statue is then mounted on a marble base with an etched brass plate. This 100 % American Handmade Bronze is cast in the traditional "Lost Wax Casting" process. Sculpture measures 22" x 16.5" x 11".
