For your consideration is this collection of Red Lodge, Montana ephemera circa 1910-1920s. This collection features an inspection card, a registration certificate, a classification card, photos and photo postcards. There are four photo postcards that have not been used and show locations and people from and around Red Lodge, Montana including: Camp Senia, Hell Roaring Plateau and Rock Creek Canyon to name the locations. There is an unused Souvenir Folder that includes a fold out section showing sixteen locations around Red Lodge, Montana. There are eleven used photo postcards showing people on the front. There are addressed to people living in Red Lodge, Montana at the time, with one being sent from Minnesota, one from Indiana in 1911, and one from Superior, Wisconsin in 1916. There is a small photo from the Gardner Photo Shop in Red Lodge, Montana showing a valley scene with mountains in the background. The last two photos in the collection are larger group photos of men and women living and working in Red Lodge, Montana. The first photo shows a group of twenty-nine men who appear to be miners. Most of the men are wearing old miner lanterns and mining clothes. Some of the men show dirty faces from coal mining and one man has a foot injury and carries crutches. The photo was taken by Win Tofferi in Red Lodge, Montana. The second large group photo shows a group of five women and thirty-seven men standing and sitting in front of a building. The women wear dresses and the men wear business attire. The photo was taken by Win Tofferi in Red Lodge, Montana. The inspection card is for a resident of Finland traveling to the United States. He arrived in Ellis Island, N.Y. on March 23rd, 1916 on the Matti Ship and shows that he was vaccinated by the ships surgeon A. Schade. The classification card shows that Oscar Maki was classified in Division F when he arrived to Red Lodge, Montana. The registration card certifies that Oscar Maki started to live in Red Lodge, Montana on the 12th of September, 1918 and was registered by the Local Board of Red Lodge. The items all show good condition with some wear from their vintage age and use. The largest item in the collection measures 7 7/8" L x 9 3/4" w, while the smallest item measures 2 3/4" L x 4 1/2" W.
