For your consideration is an original antique 25 gallon Red Wing stoneware crock. The front of the piece shows the large red color wing logo and is marked "25" and "Red Wing / Union Stoneware Co. / Red Wing, Minn.". The crock is also marked near the right handle "Patented Dec. 21st, 1915". Red Wing Stoneware Company was in operation from 1877 to 1906. It is one of the companies that merged to form Red Wing Union Stoneware Company. The company was initially set up in Red Wing, Minnesota, in 1861 by German immigrant John Paul. In 1984 John Falconer bought the rights to the name and started manufacturing stoneware again in Red Wing. The Red Wing crock is in good structural condition, however it is missing both original handles with one handle mold being broken, and a small chip on the bottom edge. It measures 18" in diameter and 25" tall.
