For your consideration is a Remington-UMC Model 12 Pump Action Rifle. The rifle features a 23.5" octagon barrel, blue'd finish, walnut stock, front sight, and Lyman R-12 folding rear sight. The barrel is marked "Remington Arms-Union Metallic Cartridge Co. Remington Works Ilion N.Y. U.S.A. Pedersen's Patents Jan. 5. 1909. Oct. 12. 1909. Mar. 8. 1910. Nov. 21. 1911. Apr. 16. 1912. - Remington Trade Mark - .22 Rem. Special." The Model 12 was Remington's first successful pump-action .22 rifle. The Remington Model 12 is a slide-action, solid-breech, hammerless, takedown, side-ejection rifle. This gun, designed by J. D. Pederson, was introduced in 1909 and produced through 1936. The gun featured a hammerless action and competed quite successfully with the 1906 Winchester which still had an exposed hammer. This rifle shows good condition, with light wear to the finish and wood from use. The metal shows a light patina. The mechanics are tight and smooth with a bright bore. Date of manufacture is 1913. Serial Number: 222632. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic Long Gun, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
