Featured in this lot we have a Rock Island Arsenal Model 1903 bolt action rifle chambered in .30-06 caliber. The Model 1903 is a bolt action five round capacity rifle used by the United States during both world wars. The rifle was primarily manufactured by Springfield with a smaller number manufactured by Rock Island Arsenal. This Rock Island rifle displays a 24" long round barrel, walnut stock and barrel shroud, five shot internal magazine, bolt action, and blues finish. The top of the frame is stamped with "U.S. ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL MODEL1903" with the serial number. This rifle features a leather "HOYT 1917" shoulder strap and bayonet attachment point. Mechanically the rifle shows good condition with a smooth action, crisp trigger, and good spring in the internal magazine. The piece shows good condition overall with light wear due to age and use. The rifle weighs 9lbs 8oz. Serial Number: 46351. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic firearm, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
