For your consideration are these Russian faceted red Vaseline trade bead strands. There are 59 large beads total on the first two strands. These large beads are an average size of 3/8" X 5/8". The next two strands have 76 smaller beads. These beads are an average size of 5/16' X 5/16". Vaseline beads were made in various attractive colors, including red. Vaseline beads are glass beads that come from West Africa and were made beginning in the early 1900's by skilled Czech bead-makers. These hard-to-find glass beads are initially formed in hand-held molds and then faceted by hand. Although Vaseline beads come from and are used in Africa, they were manufactured in Bohemia and Czechoslovakia. The condition of these strands is good and they show normal wear for their age.
