Featured in this lot is this S.D. Myres Sweetwater, Texas saddle circa 1930's. This is a early example of the work of famed saddle maker Sam Myres manufactured at his original shop in Sweetwater, Texas. The example on offer features a fully tooled pommel, back housing, skirt, and fenders. The hallmark can be seen on the half back seat and shows a squared skirt with fleece saddle lining, with a deer skin wrapped horn. The condition of this saddle is good with patina consistent with the age of the saddle and features good overall condition. The measurements of this saddle are 34" x 17" x 28" and the seat size is 14 1/2".
