Featured in this lot is this hand carved, wood revolver signed, "KM" (Kurt Hart) which sat inside the Hart Gun Shop in Tombstone, Arizona Territory in the 1880s. S.L. Hart was a gunsmith and firearms dealer in Tombstone, Arizona, in the early 1880s, with a store on Fremont Street. He arrived at the peak of Tombstone's silver boom and supplied critical services in a town known for frequent violence and lawlessness. Hart sold and serviced firearms for miners, law enforcement, and settlers, and his shop was one of several that supplied the town during critical times, such as the buildup to the 1881 Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. While not as well-known as the Earps or Clantons, Hart played an important role in the daily life of the frontier town, providing survival tools in an unstable setting. This beautifully carved wood revolver shows a natural wood color and black painted wood throughout. The bottom sides of the handle are marked reading, "KM", standing for Kurt Hart, S.L. Hart's son. Along with the gun is a reprint of S.L. Hart's gun shop's services reading, "Sign of the Big Revolver and Key, Fremont ST., Is the place to get all kinds of GUN WORK done in a workmanlike manner and warranted, Locks repaired and keys fitted, Engraving. Wood and Iron turning, and repairs on anything done on short notice / S.L. Hart". It shows good condition overall with slight wear present from its age and use over the year, but no major signs of damage is noted. It measures 21" L x 2 7/8" W x 8 1/4" H and weighs 1 pound and 8 ounces. Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona.
