For bidding in this lot is a Smith & Wesson "Model 10" Military & Police revolver. The revolver is chambered in .38 S&W, and showcases British proof marks, attributing this firearm to the "Lend-Lease" program of World War Two. The firearm is accompanied by two documents written to Staff Sargeant Ervin J. Meier, dated to November 13th, 1945. The certificates grant permission to Sargeant Meier under the provisions of Section VI, Cir 155, WD that the revolver could be brought home as a souvenir of war. Both certificates have matching serial numbers to the revolver. The revolver has typical features of the M&P model, displaying a blue'd finish, 5" barrel with a locking underlug, square butt frame, checkered walnut grips, and correct roll-stamping. The serial number of the revolver dates the firearm to the late 1930's or early 1940's, and is believed to be a 3rd change. Overall, the revolver shows good condition for age, with a very-strong bore, tight action, and a natural patina. Along with the accompaniment of War-Time provenance, this revolver would be an excellent addition to any Smith & Wesson, or war-time paraphernalia collector! The revolver qualifies as a Curio & Relic Handgun, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check. Serial Number: 757948.
