For your bidding pleasure is this A-Fork Salesman Sample Saddle. The original saddlery shop salesman sample most likely dates to the late 1800's and is a rare find. The A-fork is designed for handling livestock and for maximum comfort during long, strenuous hours in the saddle. Slick fork saddles, otherwise known as A-fork saddles, leave the front of the saddle open and provide comfort for long rides and freedom of movement for ranch work. This sample saddle would have been used to show off the countless options a saddle maker can contribute to the right custom saddle, showing the type of harness the stirrups and latigo keepers are attached to. This saddle has two color leathers. The saddle is missing some straps. The measurements of this sample saddle are 10" x 8" x 5".
