Featured in this lot is this Black on Black olla pottery vessel from Santa Clara Pueblo artist Cresencia Tafoya. Cresencia Tafoya was the matriarch of a family of potters including Harriet Tafoya, Annie Baca and Pauline Martinez., Cresencia won numerous awards for her pottery at Santa Fe Indian Market and other art events. The pottery vessel shows traditional black on black construction with geometric patterns etched into the side walling of the olla pot. The condition of this olla pottery vessel is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good overall condition. The measurements of this olla pot are 2 5/8" x 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".
