This is a set of two blacksmith forged branding irons from the old Santo Domingo Pueblo in New Mexico. The Santo Domingo Pueblo today is known as the Kewa Pueblo and has been inhabited by the Pueblo Indians for generations. Both branding ironsshow great age and use, but are in remarkably fine condition overall. The heavier of the two has a three-notched “6” or “9” brand while the lighter weight iron has a brand consisting of what may be a “W X” or similar. These are wonderful Native American and Southwestern artifacts that do not appear to have been cleaned or restored. Each one measures 34.5" long.
