Featured in this lot we have a Savage Model 99A lever action rifle with scope and chambered in .243 caliber. The Model 99 featured a unique rotary magazine, and was the first lever-action rifle to use spitzer (pointed) bullets. The rifle was extremely popular with big game hunters. The rifle utilizes a 20" long round blue'd barrel, rotary internal magazine, walnut stock, iron sights, and lever action. The top of the barrel is marked "SAVAGE MODEL 99A SERIES A WESTFIELD, MASS. U.S.A. CAL .243 WIN" and on the left on the receiver is marked "SAVAGE MODEL 99A". The receiver is blue'd and houses a jeweled bolt. The case hardened lever shows a gorgeous array of colors. The deluxe walnut stock shows a stunning figure. The gun is in wonderful condition and shows a bright bore with sharp rifling with some light handling wear across the piece. The rifle comes with a Simmons model 99735 scope. This model 99A was manufactured in 1975. The rifle weighs 7lbs 8oz. Serial Number: B930301.
