Featured in this lot is this scarce black Tahitian pearl diamond 14k white gold ring with AIG. The ring features an electronically tested 14k white gold construction with a 'Orianne' hallmark with a 14k gold stamp next to the hallmark. The center stone is a black Tahitian cultured pearl that measures 12.5mm and shows greenish black coloration and exhibiting orient with a high luster, thick nacre and is mostly round and lightly spotted, this pearl was graded in setting. Tahitian cultured pearls form in the large "Black Lipped" Pinctada Margaritifera oyster, which is about twice the size of the Japanese Akoya oyster. This warm water species from across the central and South Pacific Ocean is at home in the bays and lagoons of the islands and atolls of French Polynesia. Tahitian cultured pearl farmers generally raise their oysters in lagoons. The center stone is decorated with a total of 16 prong set brilliant cut diamonds with a approximate weight of 0.87 carats and are graded in setting with a clarity of SI-2 to I-1 and a color gradient of G - I. The piece comes complete with AIG(American International Gemologists, a GIA certified lab AIG Appraisal Number#: K68D99-EA 14727) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $10,850.00. The ring size is US 7.
