Featured in this lot is a Schrade custom antler handle, bowie style fighting knife and leather sheath. The half horse half alligator coffin pommel is a design seen almost exclusively on original early examples by Woodhead and Hartley of 36 Howard Street, Sheffield, England with this being a later addition. The knife was manufactured by Stewarta Taylor & Sons. The knife displays a stainless steel blade, metal guard, antler scale grips, and metal coffin style pommel. The blade shows a long bowie style blade, with the sides of the blade marked near the guard, "Schrade Custom" on the left and "Stewart a Taylor & Sons Sch1850S" on the right. The antler grip scales feature red spacers and four pins. The pommel displays cast construction with a horse embossed design. The knife comes with a fitted black leather sheath and shows good condition overall. The knife measures 15" long with the blade being 10 1/4" long.
