For your consideration is this 1950-60s Scott's Potato Chips tin container. Scotties potato chips originated when Acadia Foods opened a new plant in New Minas in 1959, following the Centreville plant becoming too small to meet production demands. In 1959, General Foods purchased Acadia Foods, and Scotties was rebranded as Hostess Foods, a subsidiary of GF. In 1987, Hostess Foods partnered with Frito-Lay (owned by PepsiCo), and the Scotties brand eventually disappeared. The container is alrge and is constructed out of metal. It shows a red, blue and white color scheme with the front reading, "Scott's Potato Chips / Super Tuber / Partially Destarched Net Weight One Pound / Ingredients: White Potatoes, Vegetable Shortening, Salt / Made by Potato Products, Corporation East Grand Forks, Minnesota". The back of the tin shows four recipes you can use your potato chips in - Stuffed Bacon Rolls, Casserole, Meat-Loaf and various snacks. The container shows good condition overall with wear present from its age and use over the years and a dent or two, but no signs of obvious damage is noted. The container measures a diameter of 7 9/16" and a height of 11 3/8". It weighs 1 pound.
