For your consideration is this set of Inuit / Eskimo made, seal skin & hide mukluk earrings and brooch set circa 1950s. These earrings have been carefully crafted to resemble mukluks, soft boots that were traditionally made by Indigenous peoples of the Arctic, such as the Inuit, Iñupiat, and Yup'ik. They are also known as kamik. This set features a pair of earrings and a mukluk brooch to complete the set. They have a hide backing and seal skin front with darker seal skin at the top of the mukluk and lighter, shorter seal skin on the bottom of the mukluk. It has a hide strip tied around the middle and features a twist to tighten earring. The brooch shows the exact same construction and style with the back showing a pin instead of earring components. The earrings and brooch show good condition overall with little wear present and no signs of major damage is noted. The earrings measure1 1/4" L x 1 1/8" W x 5/8" D, while the brooch measures 1 7/8" L x 1 3/8" W x 3/8" D.
