Featured in this lot is an original oil painting from Montana artist Sheryl Bodily born in 1936. The oil painting is wonderfully and professionally crafted with a wooden frame. It shows pilgrims riding along in a convoy of covered wagons and a lone rider riding out front with a rifle. The painting shows the artist's signature in the bottom left hand corner. Sheryl Bodily was born in Boise, Idaho in 1936 to a family of five children and was son to a farmer. He recalls moving six separate times as a child for farming work, countless farming chores and having the hobby of collecting arrowheads and artifacts in the Rocky Canyon near Meridian, Idaho. Later he was considered a Montanan being a resident of Columbia Falls, Montana. Bodily he has won countless awards and Best of Show with his works being widely collectible. Bodily is a well known as a Montana artist for his Western Wildlife and landscapes, as well as, his paintings of Native Americans.
