For your consideration are these Wahakee Indian, beaded leather gauntlets, circa 1950's. The gauntlets show leather construction with a trade seed bead decoration in light blue, chalk white, and medium red beads. These gauntlets were traded to a woman in Brigham City, Utah and bought from the daughter of this B.C. woman, named Washakee, in the early 1950's. Washakie was a prominent leader of the Shoshone people during the mid-19th century. The condition of these gauntlets is good, with wear consistent with age and usage. The measurements of these gauntlets are 11 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 3/4".
