For your consideration is this original metal sculpture done by renowned Montana artist, Jim Dolan circa 1970. Jim Dolan has been creating metal sculptures for over fifty years. Hundreds of private pieces and more than 170 large-scale public pieces from around the world are included in his portfolio. Among sculptors, Jim's method of welding steel and other metals into lifelike images is unmatched. His sculptures in range in size from small tabletop pieces to a 36-foot-wide golden eagle in Osaka, Japan. In addition, he produces architectural design elements and three-dimensional, heat-finished metal paintings. The sculpture shows a man sitting in a chair as he cleans his boots. The one he wears is still dirty and "unpolished" while the one he is cleaning shows a polished and clean look to it. The attention to detail is great from the details on his face to the spurs sitting on the back of the chair he is sitting in. On the bottom of the chair it is signed by the artist reading, "J. Dolan / 70". The sculpture shows good condition overall with no wear or obvious signs of damage present. The sculpture measures 10" L x 7 1/2" W x 17 3/4" H.
