For your consideration is an Original Signed John Kosel Oil on Canvas "Springtime", 2005. This beautiful painting displays a large Bull Elk wading into a wooded stream, his image reflected in the water, flowering trees behind him. The water is also reflecting the blue sky as well as the light greens and yellows of Springtime grasses along the stream bank. John Kosel is an award-winning cowboy painter and western singer based in Red Lodge, Montana, specializing in traditional realistic Western oil and canvas painting that depicts classic Western frontiers, rugged frontier landscapes, cowboy vignettes, and equestrian culture of the American West, particularly in states like Montana and Wyoming. His prominent subjects include high-country cowboys, wild mustangs (such as his piece "Mustang Country"), working horses, and expansive mountain valleys. His lifestyle as a high-country cowboy deeply influences the authenticity of his frontier artwork. This idyllic painting is in wonderful condition, the vibrancy of the colours and attention to detail of the setting is masterful. Artist's signature is on the bottom right corner. Painting title with artist's name is engraved on a wood plaque on centre bottom of frame. The professionally mounted rustic wood frame is in very nice condition. Visible art measures 17"W x 22.75"L, frame is 20.375"W x 26.25"L x 2"D. Weight is 4lb.
