Featured in this lot is a “Winchester on the Frontier” print portfolio by Fred Fellows. The portfolio features nine Fred Fellows prints showing eight Winchester rifles and one Henry rifle. The portfolio is marked in the front, reading "Winchester on the Frontier - A Portfolio of Nine Winchester paintings by Montana Artist Fred Fellows - © Fred Fellows, 1968", and also comes with “Winchester on the Frontier” envelope to store the portfolio. The inside cover of the portfolio folder is hand signed, "To Ted Byers with best wishes - Fred Fellows APR: 68". Each print shows the “Winchester or Henry Lever Action Rifle” across the top with the name and a depiction of the original Old West Owner. This collection contains the prints titled “Texas Ranger”, “Trapper”, “Homesteader”, “Meat Hunter”, “Gentleman Shooter”, “Cow Puncher”, “Plains Indian”, “The Scout”, and “Hide Hunter”. This is a rare set from one of Montana's most well-known and collected, mid-20th century artists. The portfolio measures 11 1/2" tall by 16" wide.
