For your bidding pleasure in this lot is a collection of six pairs of earrings and one necklace, made from silver, turquoise, malachite, abalone, and mother of pearl shell. First in the lot is the necklace. This necklace is made of five silver curved bars. The first two bars are connected with a hook closer. The other three bars have disks of polished Abalone hanging from them with one disk missing. The disks average 1 1/2" x 1 1/8". The bars are each 3 1/2" long and the necklace measures 17" on the inside. There is no mark on this necklace and the metal has not been tested, but it shows classical silver patina. Next are three pairs of earrings for pierced ears. The first pair of earrings are 1 1/4" long teardrops on wire hangers. The teardrops are marked “Mexico” and “Alpaca” on the back. The face of the earrings are Jet with Abalone and Mother of Pearl inlays. The second pair of earrings are on posts on the back of silver half balls. These 1 1/4" circle earrings are marked on the back “Mexico”, “925”, and an artist mark. The face of these earrings are chips of Malachite set in an Aztec design. The third pair of earrings for pierced ears are silver heart shaped buttons. The back of these earrings is marked “Sterling 925”; the front has a basket type design. The last three earing pairs are made for non-pierced ears. The first pair has a screw backing and are 7/8" x 3/4" framed blocks of Malachite. The back of these earrings is marked “925”. The next pair of earrings are 1/2" turquoise buttons set in silver screw backings marked sterling. The last pair of earrings are 2" x 1 1/2" carved leaves of Mother of Pearl shells. These earrings have spring clasps that can be worn with pierced or non-pierced ears as the posts hinge out of the way. This collection of jewelry is in fair condition.
