The lot features a fantastic set of men's beaded hide moccasins with hard parfleche soles from the Sioux Native American Indians dating to circa 1890-1900. The set shows remnant polychrome painted parfleche rawhide hard soles sinew sewn to the Indian tanned hide tops with medium height ankle, showing all period correct 1800's glass trade seed beads in a geometric cross pattern. The beads show colors of chalk white, cobalt, red, pink heart, semi-transparent black, and semi-transparent brown. The set shows foot worn soles with a nice patina throughout and supple yet slightly stiffening tops that still have the original Indian hide tie straps and tongue. The beadwork is also sinew sewn. This is truly a fantastic set. Provenance: From a large beadwork and early American history collection out of Iowa. Each moccasin measures 10.25" L by 4.25" W by 3.5" H.
