The lot features an original Sioux Native American Indian beaded pipe bag with a wonderful reservation period circa 1890's age. The bag shows an Indian tanned Great American Bison Buffalo hide construction with long frilly fringes and has beautiful beadwork. The piece shows all unique early glass trade pony beads in chalk white, black and dark blue. The top of the bag shows two fringe tabs with old red trade clothe stroud. The surface of the hide shows signs of old yellow ochre mineral pigment paint. The bag has a wonderful traditional design and shows overal good condition with little to no bead loss and a nice patina. Measures overall 38" long with top tie straps and fringe by 6.75" wide.
