The lot features a Russell Green River Works trade knife paired with a Sioux fully top beaded knife sheath with an old age. The knife shows a one-piece solid walnut wood handle with two iron rivets and long slender blade that is stamped in the old style “Russell Green River Works” with a nice old patina. The sheath shows a parfleche rawhide that is wrapped in Indian tanned hide being sinew sewn with the entire front being adorned with early glass trade seed beadwork in a traditional geometric pattern with all old beads of sky padre blue, green, greasy yellow, red white hearts, and cobalt. At the center of the sheath shows a row of rolled tin jingle cones on Indian tanned fringe showing slight rust. At the base of the sheath is a completely beaded fringe with six hide fringe holding jingle cones at the end. The top has a braided hide belt loop. This is a nice reservation period sheath that has been brain tanned smoked. The measurements of this sheath are 10 1/2" x 3" and the knife measures 11 1/2" x 1".
