The lot features a Sioux Native American Indian beaded stone head war club dating to the early to mid 1900's. The war club shows a craved stone head which has specs of quartz, a holy aspect. The head shows typical carved aspects and is secured to the wood haft handle with a wrap of parfleche rawhide. The haft shows a stripped wood staff that has been covered in sinew sewn rawhide parfleche and shows a soft Indian tanned hide gripping area and linear beaded accent along the top. The beaded accent on the top shows chalk white, greasy yellow, sky padre blue and dark red glass trade seed beads framed in two pieces of hand cut Indian tanned hide fringe. The piece shows a fine condition and displays well. The piece has an older museum collection identification tag that reads, "B 858" and "DJ JJ". Provenance: From a large Native American weapons and beadwork collection in Great Falls, Montana. Measures 19"L with a 3.5" x 2" x 2.25" stone head.
