Featured in this lot is this beaded umbilical cord fetish collection from the Lakota Sioux Indians, circa 1890-1910. There are three umbilical cord fetishes in this collection. The first is a fully beaded lizard effigy with chalk white, medium green, medium blue, and red trade seed beads. The next is a nymph effigy with light green trade seed beads, chalk white, black, sky blue, and dark blue beads. The last is a bald eagle effigy with greasy medium red, chalk white, and greasy yellow trade seed beads. The condition of this collection of fetishes is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this collection of fetishes is 6" x 3 3/4" x 1"; the next measures 6 1/2" x 2 5/8" x 1" and the last is 5" x 1 1/2" x 5/8".
