This is an exceptional Sioux Native American Indian Chief's Breastplate (breast plate) made of hairpipe bone beads. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide strung construction with Buffalo parfleche rawhide gaskets sectioning off eight groupings of hair pipe bone beads with a unique wound glass antique trade bead section and wound glass green trade beaded neck. The end of the piece shows various number three wampum of cowrie shells. The piece shows an old collection museum tag with ID Numbers. From the large Great Falls, Montana Collection of Old West and American Indian antiques. The breast plate measures 51" long, and 11" wide. The piece is said to carry an age of circa early 1900 and shows a very good overall condition for its early age. The piece shows a very striking large construction which is much more impressive than the beautiful example sold for $3,000 in our 2017 sale, making this a much more valuable piece. Please examine the piece for condition and age.
