The lot features a fully beaded medicine pouch from the Sioux Native American Indians and dating to the late 19th to early 20th Century. The bag shows an Indian tanned hide construction with sinew and trade thread sewing and is covered in early glass trade seed beads in a traditional geomteric pattern. The beads include chalk white, greasy yellow, sky padre blue, cobalt blue, medium green, red white-heart, and dark semi-transparent green. The bag shows much patina and some bead loss, but overall is in good condition. The piece contains a small bag which has the original contents of this bag. Provenance: The piece was purchased from an 83 year old gentleman in Utah who inherited the bag from his father. He stated that some of his earliest memories were his father telling him about purchasing this bag from an Indian Reservation. No documentation comes with this bag. Measures overall 4"x3.25".
