This is an excellent pair of authentic circa 1870-1880’s beaded Buffalo hide and hard soled moccasins from the Sioux Native American Indians of South Dakota. Provenance: From the ex-collection of Dale Harrison out of Cincinnati, Ohio; these were collected from the previous family owner from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. The set shows a Great American Bison Buffalo Indian tanned hide construction with hard soled parfleche rawhide soles with the top and sides / back of the foot being covered in period correct 1800’s glass trade seed cen beads in a geometric pattern with plaid like pattern on the top in greasy green and red white hearts having a border around the entire foot with background of chalk white and triangle tipi like and cross patterns in red white hearts greasy sky blue, cobalt and greasy yellow. The hide is slightly stiff from age and has the original hide ankle with hide tongue being held together with what appears to be the original hide tie straps intact. The set is stuffed with old newspaper by a previous collector and adorned with a five-point star vintage calico clothe. Provenance: From Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and the ex-collection of Dale Harrison, Cincinnati, Ohio. Each measures 9 ½ inches long along the sole by 3 ½ inches wide at the foot.
