This is a hide and beaded flat tobacco pouch or bag from the Sioux Native American Indians, dating to the early-to-mid 1900’s. The bag is all Indian tanned hide with a greyish color and glass trade seed glass trade beads arranged in a traditional geometric pattern in colors of sky padre light blue, corn yellow, red and blue. The bottom edge shows hide fringe and a top flap, along with a tie strap at the rear. Provenance: From the largest American Indian Antiquities collection in Montana. The bag measures 14 inches long with top strap by 6 inches wide.
