The lot features a set of two wood polychrome painted metal tipped arrows from the Sioux Native American Indians dating to circa 1890-1910. The set shows a stripped and scrapped wood constructed using a particularly uneven branch that is completely covered in red and black ocher mineral pigment paint showing notched ends with sinew wrapped feather fletching. The tips show sinew and hide glue secured metal tip arrowheads which appear to be remnants from silverware. The set has a nice even patina and is in good condition. Purchased from Allard Auction in the 1990’s. These are approximately 25”L with 2”L arrowheads.
