The lot features a beaded hide doll from the Sioux, likely eastern Sioux due to its amazing whimsical floral beaded design. The doll shows a thin buckskin hide with glass trade petit seed beads. The doll shows braided hair, likley horse tail or human hair, as well as beaded features, beaded earrings, a beaded necklace with number three wampum conch shell, buckskin leggings and beaded moccasins. The dress and beaded cape show a wonderful cut fringe. The doll dates to the mid-20th Century and is well kept with no visible bead loss of the double sided bead work. Measures overall 12.75"L by 9.25"W.
