For your consideration is a Smith & Wesson .22/32 Hand Ejector Bekeart Model .22 LR caliber revolver. The revolver was originally designed as a .22 caliber target revolver and built on the .32 Hand Ejector frame. The .22/32 Hand Ejector was numbered with the .32 Hand Ejector series, and started at serial number 138226. The original production of this model used a separate serial number, which is stamped on the bottom of the wood grip. Only 5,000 units were produced with special serial numbers. When the factory cataloged this handgun, they referred to the revolver as the .22/32 Heavy Frame Target Model. This separated them from the small frame .22 Hand Ejector series. This name was used until 1930 when the K-22 was introduced. After that time, it was referred to as the .22/32 Target Model. This Model was finally discontinued from production in 1953 and replaced by the 1953 .22/32 Target Model 35. This Bekeart Model is chambered in .22 Long Rifle and utilizes a 6” blue’d barrel and six shot cylinder. The revolver shows two serial numbers indicative of the special 5,000 serial number run noted above. The top of the barrel is roll stamped “Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass. U.S.A. Pat’d Mar. 27. 94. Aug. 4. 96. Dec. 22. 96. Oct. 8. 01. Dec. 17. 01. Feb. 8. 06. Sept. 14. 09.” The left side of the barrel is marked “.22 Long Rifle CTG.” The hand checkered walnut grips show good condition and retain the brass S&W medallion. The revolver shows good condition with some obvious evidence of wear from use. Grip serial number reads 2516. Serial Number: 208405. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
