Featured in this lot we have a Smith & Wesson regulation police double action revolver with leather holster and chambered in .38 S&W. The Regulation Police revolver was manufactured by Smith & Wesson from 1917 to 1940. The pistol displays a 4" long round barrel, five shot cylinder, walnut checkered grips, double action trigger, and blade front sight. The exterior of the pistol displays a worn blue'd finish with wear due to handling and use. The barrel is marked across the top reading "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT'D OCT.8.01. DEC.17.01. FEB.6.08. SEPT.14.09. DEC.29.14." with the left side marked "SMITH & WESSON" and on the right being "REGULATION POLICE 38 S. & W. CTG". Mechanically the revolver shows a smooth and crisp trigger action with good timing for the cylinder and working hammer. The revolver overall shows good condition for its age with wear due to handling and use. the pistol comes with a Brauer Bros leather hip holster. The holster is in fair condition with repairs needed to the stitching. The pistol and holster together weigh 1lb 4oz. Serial Number: 2911. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic firearm, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
