For sale in this lot is a Smith & Wesson 2nd Model, Double-Action revolver, chambered for .38 Smith & Wesson, manufactured between 1880-84. This was S&Ws first double action .38 center fire caliber revolver, which became popular with frontiersman, and urban dwellers of the time. This example utilizes a 3 1/4" barrel, silver blade front sight, hard rubber S&W grips, and a fluted five-shot cylinder. Additionally, the revolver utilizes a crescent style trigger, and a top-break design. Overall, the revolver shows fair condition - Aesthetically, the revolver shows a naturally aged patina, with slight pitting to the cylinder, and good overall grips. Mechanically, the revolver is missing its side plate, but functions in time, and has reasonable cylinder lock-up. The revolver qualifies as an Antique Hand Gun, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check. Serial Number: 113136.
