Featured in this lot we have a Smith & Wesson Military and Police revolver chambered in 38 special. This revolver was manufactured by Smith & Wesson originating from the early to mid 1900's. The revolver displays a 4" long barrel, six shot cylinder, wooden grips, double action trigger, and blue'd finish. The revolver is marked across the barrel reading "SMITH & WESSON" on the left, "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PATENTED FEB. 8. 08. SEPT. 14. 09. DEC. 29. 14." on the top, and "38 S. & W. SPECIAL CTG" on the right. The frame is marked with the trade mark medallion on the left side with the right reading "MADE IN U.S.A." in stamped lettering and hand carved "MK #2 S91-5447". The frame, barrel, and cylinder display a blue'd finish with the hammer and trigger showing a case hardened finish. The grips feature a gold and silver "S W" medallion across the top and checkered pattern design across each side with the right sides checkering and medallion faded due to handling wear. The revolver shows smooth mechanics overall with a crisp trigger pull, proper timing and smooth cylinder release. The pistol shows good condition overall with some wear across the finish and grips due to use and handling. The revolver weighs 1lbs 12oz. Serial Number: 545832.
