Included in this lot is a Smith & Wesson Model No. 2 .32 caliber spur trigger revolver. The revolver displays an octagonal barrel, spur trigger, round cylinder, nickel finish, original leather holster, and walnut grips. The revolver was produced in the 1860's with a serial number 28252. The Model .2 was in popular demand with the outbreak of the American Civil War, as soldiers from all ranks on both sides of the conflict made private purchases of the revolvers for self-defense. The top of the barrel is marked "Smith & Wesson. Springfield, Mass" and the cylinder is marked "Patented April, 3, 1855, July ~ 1809, & Dec 18, 1860". This revolver features a 6" solid rib barrel chambered in .32 caliber. The top of the barrel is stamped with the proper factory stamping. The revolver comes from the collection of William Almguist, located in Miles City, Montana, with its original faded tag. The revolver shows fair condition and some light pitting across the barrel and frame. Serial Number: 28252.
