Featured in this lot is this set of Society of Montana Pioneers Medals with Ribbons (2), circa 1929-1932. There are two medals with ribbons in this collection. The first has two medals and ribbon from Great Falls, Montana The Electric City from the Society of Montana Pioneers for its annual meeting in 1929, the upper medal displays an empty gold coloured nameplate, the lower medal features a scene of the Great Falls of the Missouri River; the second has two medals and ribbon from Missoula, Montana from the Society of Montana Pioneers for their annual meeting from 1932, the upper medal displays an empty bronze coloured nameplate while the lower medal is a facsimile of the state of Montana featuring cities, rivers and mountain ranges. All the medals were made by the Whitehead & Hoag Co. of Newark, N.J. The condition of these colourful ribbons and medals is good, with slight wear to the ribbons due to age and storage, rich patina covers the medals. Measure 5"L and 4.5"L respectively.
