Featured in this lot is this South African Bushman, hand carved wooden male busts. There are two busts in this collection; the busts show iconic stylized grooming consistent with the South African Bushman. The San peoples (also Saan), or Bushmen, are members of various Khoe, Tuu, or Kx'a-speaking indigenous hunter-gatherer groups that are the first nations of Southern Africa and whose territories span Botswana, Namibia, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and South Africa. The condition of these two busts is good, with slight wear to the black stain on the smaller. The measurements of these two hand carved busts are 5" x 3" x 4" and 6" x 3 1/8" x 3 3/4.
